FOLSOM, N.J. -- Following an open competitive bidding process, South Jersey Energy of Folsom, New Jersey was awarded a two-year contract by the State of New Jersey to supply natural gas for government facilities statewide. Under the terms of the contract, South Jersey Energy will supply firm and interruptible natural gas for the State and State affiliated agencies such as state hospitals, transit facilities and prisons. According to South Jersey Energy president, Ed Graham, the state contract will generate $20 million in revenue. "This is South Jersey Energy's largest contract to date. The fact that we have been awarded such a large statewide contract is a clear indication that our reputation for reliability and quality service is second to none. It marks a new chapter in the South Jersey Energy story and a tremendous growth opportunity as we partner with the great state of New Jersey." The two -year contract with the state is just the latest good news for South Jersey Energy. During the last two quarters the company has been the successful bidder for four other energy supplier contracts. The statewide contract is scheduled to begin in January 2002 and continue until December 2003.
